Listen To YOU In this Journey Of OVARCOMING.

“Words are not enough to tell you how grateful I am for your financial assistance. It brought my family and I, a sweet relief. There are times in our lives when we go through hard times, and sometimes, help, any help is well received. May god continue to blessing this organization and many donations continue pouring so that the mission of this wonderful organization can continue giving to so many wonderful women out there who had or have ovarian cancer. I have you in my prayers and I will be sure to pay it forward as soon as I can. Thank you very much.”

Our OvarCare Recipient Karen, sent us this beautiful message of appreciation and love. This touching message warmed our hearts so much and gave us this amazing feeling of HOPE.

This is Karen’s story of OVARCOMING:

After giving birth to her third child, Karen wasn’t feeling good – she kept feeling worse as the days progressed. Karen experienced the “B” of the B.E.A.C.H. symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. Karen’s stomach kept getting larger, but she attributed it to post pregnancy body changes. By another two months, Karen looked nine months pregnant. She also experienced the “H” of B.E.A.C.H. – Heightened Fatigue. Karen’s Doctor ordered tests for her, but she eventually ended up in the ER where she was finally diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Karen’s genetic testing revealed she is BRCA1 positive, Karen is aware and is proactive about the need of her children to be tested in the future.

Karen is ever grateful to her parents who provide her with amazing family support. Karen’s friends are around her as well as she goes through her journey of Ovarcoming. Karen mentioned she has a close friend who got diagnosed with breast cancer twelve years ago at age 31 – she is a beacon of hope and support to Karen. Karen is thankful for their support and says she would not know what she’d do without them.

Karen shares her WORDS OF WISDOM with all OVARCOMERS: “Listen to your body, don’t just ignore it, go see a doctor.” Please join us in wishing Karen the very best as she continues on her journey to Ovarcome! Together We Uplift. Together We Ovarcome!
