Your differences lead you to your destiny to Ovarcome.

Being different is far from easy. Well I suppose that statement is unclear when describing a human being. We are all equal and should respect each other as such, but that usually gets left behind because people like to categorize individuals. Which is when different becomes attached to your name like a label or tag. But when your label is different than the majority, that is when they no longer see a human being, it’s the differences that are seen and observed.

Even when it comes down to something as simple as love. Love shows no bias towards gender or race. Thankfully I had some friends who understood me when family and other friends didn’t. Finding that support gave me the strength to freely be myself regardless of judgement or opinions. & with that I found my soulmate.

It was 2015 and we had only been dating seriously for two months before I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She could’ve walked or knowing what I now know about cancer, she could have ran away – but she didn’t. She held my hand and stood by my side the entire time and we made it through.

At the end of 2017 when my ovarian cancer recurred, we fought shoulder to shoulder to win another battle against this horrific disease. Still to this date I am trying to heal and piece my life back together – yet her resilience and patience with me continues, never giving up on me or on this battle. Even when family members or friends weren’t there, she was.

There is only one word that can explain her actions, her support, her fight. That is, Love. Without her support I may have not survived these battles. Therefore in some form love helped cure me in a situation where my gender actually hurt me. She was strategically placed in my life during a time when I would need a loving support system. Oh how God works in mysterious ways.

So when you’re having moments where your differences are being judged or criticized and you’re weary and beginning to blame or doubt yourself, you must remember that God created you for a purpose and he is always with you. It’s those same differences that lead you to your destiny, encourage growth in others and bring change in the world for those after you.

Know that you having the courage to love out loud with no limitations or restrictions could be exactly what you’re called on this earth to do. Simply be YOU!
