Our OvarCare Recipient, Beverly Hernandez, experienced no symptoms for ovarian cancer. Beverly got injured while on the job and hurt her back. She got an MRI done for her injury – that’s when her cancer was diagnosed. She has been in active treatment ever since.

Beverly’s genetic testing revealed she carries the BRCA1 mutation – she encouraged her daughter and son to then undergo genetic testing to understand their risk. They both tested negative. Beverly shared with us that when she talked to her brothers and sisters about Genetic Testing, they didn’y want to get the test done.

As Beverly continues her treatment, she is wonderfully supported by her family and friends that surround her with love and inspiration.

Beverly wants everyone to know that life is not a linear journey. She wants to encourage her fellow Survivors to take the experience of OVARCOMING day by day. To stay strong and positive in the journey to OVARCOME.

Via OvarCare Counseling we are pleased to offer: Up to 6 sessions of support for up to 6 months Meetings by phone in any location in the U.S. Supportive services to OvarCare grant recipients Information, resources, referrals as needed and requested Our OvarCare counseling sessions are designed to provide support through the journey of Ovarcoming Ovarian Cancer and are not deemed to be psychotherapy services. Our members are ready to provide compassionate and meaningful support via active listening, providing gentle guidance in navigating the often-challenging course of diagnosis, treatment and survivorship, and in providing effective tools and resources to Ovarcome.
