As you know, Ovarcome is headquartered in Houston, TX – the city recently devastated by Hurricane Harvey, that brought over 52 inches of rain to the city. More than 32,000 people are now in shelters in Texas, 210,000 people have registered with FEMA for assistance. In the past few days, over 8,500 rescues have been conducted. About 24,000 National Guard troops are expected to be deployed to help with disaster recovery. 38 people have lost their lives to Harvey, as reported so far. Thousands have been displaced from their homes – have lost their belongings. We in Houston are holding strong, trying to restore and rebuild. Our hearts go out to our survivors and family members that have been impacted by Harvey. We have been directly contacted by few of our survivors to let us know that they have created their own GoFundMe accounts to assist. Please look out for such information posted on our page by our survivors in need. Maybe you can help. Our Founder Runsi Sen, was on the ground today volunteering and dropping off donations and supplies to Houstonians in need. The devastation may be catastrophic, but the outpouring of support has also been unprecedented. First Responders, Volunteers, and the Community at large have come together to rebuild Houston with love, compassion, and patience. Join us in keeping our survivors in our thoughts and prayers as Houston embarks on the journey to recovery – the road to recovery is long, but it is definite. To lend a helping hand, we are offering to cover parking/lunch for 1 day for all Houston area survivors that have their treatment scheduled at our partner hospitals from September 1- September 15.
