Let’s sit down and get to know Deme a little better!
Q: Tell us the significance of your name:
A: I am Deme, named after my grandmother. She was an artist – strong woman who lived to be 93. She loved to sing the “Old People” and play the bass guitar at the Senior Citizens Center. I think the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – as she would say!
Q: You are a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
A: I’d be silver. It is shiny and subtle at the same time. It blends well and goes with all the other colors. But still stands out: alone, or together.
Q: What inspires your inner sparkle?Â
A: Quiet determination. Like I have a secret and can’t wait to tell how awesome a second and third chance at life can be!Â
Q: Tell us about a significant challenge you have Ovarcome. Share your words of wisdom.Â
A: I have recently completed 38 rounds of chemo. After ovarcoming ovarian and uterine cancer, to have a new diagnosis of an incurable disease was a mighty blow. But I have heard the word “REMISSION” again. I have new hope, new outlook, and new zeal to Ovarcome!Â
